Love the shape of these milkweed pods. think they may be a part of my next quilt.
There's something about tree bark that really intrigues me. So many factors play a part in it's creation.

Nature imitates nature


The layer of ice on the river this morning took on the shape and texture of the dead leaves below it. Fascinating what a change in temperature can do. Notice the clear ice at the top of the picture opposed to the frosted ice. What causes that - temperature and time? Something to ponder.

Chivalry isn't dead


On our daily dog park hike, Grace and I have made friends with Charlie and his owner John. Charlie is quite smitten with my Grace and today proved his undieing affection. Having lost her ball on the frozen river bank, Charlie powerfully broke through the ice to retrieve it. His thanks --- icicles on his fur and whiskers. What a guy.
